Behind the Scenes: Creature: Jessica K Photography

NSFW 18+
Model: Moofy
Make-up: Rebeckah Wurzbacher

After getting off to a slow start with locations being mixed around, we shot this editorial of Moofy becoming this slimy creature in between shadows and patches of light in the late afternoon, the light was already fading and I have to say it was quite eery shooting in this location that late.

Oilin' up

Final touches

Bec stayed put in a little creepy bathroom

I'm not sure why but I love that piece of graffiti

Perfection in a photo? You're welcome

We got back to the car to find that I didn't have my keys on me. Moofy went back into the abandonment, at around 6-7pm, it was dark enough that she needed a torch to look for my damn keys... Turns out I locked them in the boot.

Thank-you RACQ man for breaking into my car

Shoot complete, remind me never to lock my keys in the boot while trespassing again.

Editorial coming soon.

Freedom: Jessica K Photography x Moofy

NSFW 18+

A topic in the media this week that really has me a bit wound-up, is the un-educated opinions of Australia Zoo's little girl, Bindi Irwin.
*Please note, I am not blaming Bindi herself, I am blaming her upbringing and agency's expectations and influences.

Quote: "“I mean, for me, I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age and they’re always trying to dress older. Whether it’s wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them."

It is absolutely fine to have your own opinions, but in Bindi's case, her opinion is actually harmful to the mindset's of her target audience, young girls. It goes for both genders, if we grow up thinking that a woman is less of a person for wearing less clothing, it is only going to result in sexual harassment and violence, as we have seen... The sad truth is that most people have been brought up with these pre-conceived ideas and that is why the world is having so many occurrences of these crimes.

We need to be teaching and preaching to our future generation, that the respect of women doesn't come down to their clothing, their make-up or their physical features. Having this mindset will result in a more equal society, and that's what we all right? Equality.

Feminism- Less about thinking women are better than men, more about challenging the perceptions of woman being less than men and therefore pursuing equality for a better world to live in.

The Bearded Woman: Jessica K Photography

"The Bearded Woman"

I wanted to explore with the stereotypical view of males and females, by having something seen as highly masculine in an ultra-feminine setting. There is often more acceptance of women taking on the role of a male than there is with a male taking on the role of a woman, and I wanted to challenge that through beautifully feminine images, that twists those pre-conceived ideas.
